A Better Day

A BETTER DAY

 

As for me, I will see your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness. Ps. 17:15 (NKJV)

 

What a joy it is for a Christian, who is visually impaired, to know that the first sight that they will see with perfect vision will be our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. How marvelous that will be for all Christians!

 

As we pass from death into everlasting life, we will awake in His likeness. In 1 John 3:2, the apostle tells us, “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” While in this sinful flesh, we cannot even begin to imagine what we will be like in our glorified bodies. We will be able to worship God without inhibition. Our thoughts and attitudes will be pure rather than sinful. Our selfishness will be changed to selflessness. We will no longer be consumed with the cares of this world, for we will only be focused on God. Our failures will be gone because we will no longer be able to sin. We do not know what these bodies will look like, but they will not have pain or fatigue. They will not be diseased or disabled and our hearts will never be broken again. Blinded eyes will see. The lame will walk. Deaf ears will hear. No matter how bad today is, a better day awaits us!

 

Lord Jesus,

How we long to see Your face in glory. Thank You for the comforting promise of a better day. It refreshes our troubled hearts while we are pilgrims in a foreign country. Amen.
