ANGELS WATCHING
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
Ps. 91:11(NKJV)
God and His angels are always with us. I have seen the evidence of that when I go walking, and I encounter lawn mowers, a blind person’s worst enemy. Just last week, I heard a lawn mower on the next block, and I decided to go down a different street. It was unchartered territory for me, and my only thought was to make the right turn on Elm Avenue, but I forgot about the alley. When I felt the open space, I assumed it was Elm, but it led me to someone’s yard. Where was my street?
Before I realized what I had done, Shirley, my neighbor, appeared. Now Shirley is not an angel, but that particular day, she was heaven sent. She explained that she had heard my cane tapping, and she knew that I was not on my regular path. She directed me on down to Elm Avenue.
I saw the watchful care of my heavenly Father that day. It gave me the confidence to walk on new streets, which I had been hesitant to try.
Friend, there are angels watching over you too. They are on your job, at your home, and on the highways. “Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling” (Ps. 91:9-10). We have confidence that God will not allow any harm to come to us. You are thinking, “What about the time…?” That was my thought when I first read these verses, but sometimes, God allows things to happen for His own purpose and glory. God is our refuge, our habitation, our dwelling place. If He cares enough to get a blind lady on the right street, think what He will do for you!
